Haircut

Laker got his first haircut~This was driving me crazy for over a month now and Corey finally said I could do it.....good thing cause I was going to anyway.
Before

After

He didn't need much and I couldn't cut and take pictures or video but he loved it, an inch of around the ears and got rid of the mullet. A trim on the rest and he has the best haircut any 3 month old could possible have.

First Snow

As they do every year on the first snow fall Corey and Bailey (who didn't want a picture taken) went out to play in the snow,
and not wanting to leave Laker out of the fun they made him a snowball to play with. As you can tell he was not real impressed by it but it was fun for daddy.

My Life Savings

So we spent our life savings today and all it took was 6 hours and 2 men working hard. Our house will be nice and warm this winter and Corey won't have to move in with his mom next summer because WE HAVE AIR!

Here are his stats:

Fishy Fishy

So the past two nights Corey and I have been waking up multiple times at night due to Laker, but not by his crying......but to the annoying music on his Fish Aquarium. As I would love to believe he is very advanced for his age and is turning this on to sooth himself back to sleep, I know he isn't, and realize he sleeps like me rolling all over the place and keeps bumping the button. As much as he loves his Fishy if this keeps up he may have to say goodbye for awhile so mommy and daddy can sleep.

Diaper Disaster

I bet you expected to see a baby with Poo all over him right? As much as a blessing it is that we have not had that happen YET, I found this in Lakers room this morning. Laker is still wearing newborn diapers so they are small but if you look at the picture below there is not much left of a diaper.
Take note in the back ground is a very nice Diaper Gennie, I use this all the time and it works great being all of 2 inches from the changing table but at 4am I just can't seem to put a diaper in it and leave it on the table. (this drives Corey nuts) I assumed that a diaper 3 1/2 feet off the ground would be safe from the 4 legged kids in our house.
Here is the naughty one hiding under the kitchen table, I am sure she is not feeling well after eating a diaper for one, but I also think she is feeling a lot of pain after jumping up to get the diaper. This is the dog with hip problems and a torn ACL she can't walk all the way down the drive way so I ask myself HOW did she do this naughty deed. Mind over matter I guess. Can't wait to see what starts to come out the other end of this 80lbs furry friend. I can't imagen it is good for a dog to eat a diaper.

Fussy baby!

My happy content baby has turned into a fussy pants today. Okay so not really but compared to a normal day at the Kragt house he was. I can tell he is getting older, 8 weeks now, he is much more alert and does not sleep near as much during the day. Today he seemed to want my undivided attention all afternoon and of course so did the dogs. After playing all day and trying to keep this boy happy he final gave in for that afternoon nap. "Back is Best" was not happening for Laker today so he settle in on the couch like this.

Growing Fast

We had Lakers follow up appointment this afternoon. As long as he gained weight in the past week 1/2 the doctor doesn't need to see him again until his 2 month check up.......He has gained. Corey and I had bets on how much he weighed. I said 6lbs 2oz, Corey said 6lbs 8oz. Laker weighed 6lbs 7 1/2oz. Corey was closer but went over so according to the Price is Right rules I win!! He has grown in length also and is up to 19 1/4 inches. He has changed so much already and is just amazing to watch.

Mommy I can hear!

This morning we had to go back to Boven Birthing Center to have Lakers hearing re-checked. He failed the test in his Left ear after he was born but today passed both Right and Left side. It looks kind of scary with all the the cords and wires but he didn't seem to mind one bit and slept right through the entire test. Which surprising to me they want him to be in a deep sleep because they monitor the brain waves to determine if he can hear.
We have his 2 week Doctors appointment tomorrow and Corey and I have bets on how much he weighs now. I will let you know who wins.

Week 1

So we survived our first week as parents. Yeah!!!!
What fun and what a change all at once. We have been blessed by many friends and family members by visits, food, and of course the cutest baby gifts. Thank you to everyone. We seem to be adjusting well as parents and Laker is adjusting to us. So far he has been a WONDERFUL baby, he is eating great, and sleeping in his crib no problem. I even have to wake the little guy up in the middle of the night to eat, not complaining by any means on that one, this momma is getting some good nights of sleep. Laker is already growing a ton and has even out grown a few of his preemie clothes, the newborn ones are still huge but maybe in a few weeks he can grow into those.
We can already see very soon he will start to be a little stinker, I blame that on his daddy, so we are praying he is fussy during the day and not at night for me (as many of you know I love my sleep) What a journey we begin and are so excited to share this part of our new life with all of our wonderful friends and family. God has truly blessed us!

Happy Birthday Sadi

Today my Sadi Girl turned 10 years old, hard to believe how fast a decade can go with a best friend like her. She is ageing fast, some hip problems and a torn ACL but she is still just as happy as can be. In her 9th year of age she first got Bailey as her best friend and new brother and Corey as her new Daddy (who she like's more than me most days). And now this week just in time for her B-day she got a little brother Laker who she LOVES to pieces already. Hope for a few more great years like this one for you Sadi.

34 week appointment

So it has been awhile since a baby update. Just had my 34 week appointment and things are looking good/the same. Baby K is still being a little on the stubborn side (must get that from daddy) and is not head down but he has moved from a Transverse Position (completely sideways) to a Oblique Position (diagonal) So we are moving in the right direction. Dr. G really wants to see him head down by 36 weeks so please pray he is a good little boy and listens. His heart rate was a very calm and restful 120bpm so I am being optimistic that he will stay a very calm restful baby when he is out in the world. Again knowing his Daddy this is very wishful thinking but it is possible for him to be like Mommy.

Mini Van??? WHAT!

What is this in my driveway? Are we really ready for a MINIVAN? I think the answer is a big fat NO. Corey came home from work on Tuesday with this beauty of a car and it confirmed my feeling's that I am just NOT ready for this yet. This is his work vehicle he needed to take to Chicago for a training class this week. We will be returning it ASAP to get my nice and small looking Escape back. Sorry all you mini van moms I am not ready to join your club.

Third Trimester

I have officially entered the Third Trimester! Yeah the home stretch, or the worse stretch we will see. I had a Dr. appointment on Tues and everything is looking good/the same. He is still in a Transverse position (sideways) and seems very comfortable there. Mommy on the other hand is not very comfortable because of this! But really is there a comfortable position for me right now? I am guessing no. His heartbeat was a steady 135bpm, he was acting like a typical boy by moving all over so it was hard to get his heart beat. After my regular appointment. I was sent over to Holland Hospital for a quick blood draw to test my blood (again) for the Rh- factor. As you can imagine there is nothing quick about a hospital lab. After my results came back and a hour of worthless waiting room reading they gave me the RhoGAM shot to take back to my doctor office so they could give it to me. Again waiting in a waiting room for a nurse to have 2 seconds to stab my leg. Now I am down to every 2 weeks for my appointments. Hard to believe it has gone this fast and I am sure the next few weeks will go even faster.

Camping

I survived the weekend of camping! We had a very COLD weekend but still had a ton of fun.
Here is my home for the weekend, It came equipped with a queen size air mattress I had to myself, and a portable toilet for those many middle of the night pees. Boy did that come in handy. I loved it so much Corey was getting concerned I might put it in our bedroom next to the bed permanently. No worries I don't plan on it.
Saturday everyone else went canoeing on the Pere Marquette river. Corey and I decided to sit that out this year due to that fact I am starting my 7th month of pregnancy. What a good year NOT to canoe it was so cold we had a fire going all day long.

Baby Shower

I had my first Shower and got TONS of wonderful gifts to prepare us for Baby Kragt to arrive. My Brother, Sister-in-law and kids came it to town for the weekend so it was a fun filled very busy weekend. It was great to see them and spend some time with the kids. Heather and Maddie (along with my mom) helped to give me this wonderful shower at Alpen Rose. Here is a few pics of ALL the gifts.

These next few pic's are of the art work Dan and Heather gave us for the baby's room. They got these for Maxton's room before he was born. They really add some finishing touches to the room. Thanks guys we love them.
